Door hanger and flyer maker

Pick who you're trying to reach and a format. You get plain, honest copy for that audience, your phone number big and bold, and a sheet that prints with cut guides.

The flyer opens with an example shop. Put in your name, phone and license number.

Who it's for

Sets the headline and service list. You can edit both.

The words

Services

Only offer what you'll honor. Up to 80 characters.

Your shop

Some states require it on your paperwork and ads. Check yours in license rules by state.

Logo (optional)

PNG, JPG or SVG, up to 2 MB. It stays in this browser tab and is never uploaded. A dark logo prints best in black and white.

2 per sheet, with a cut line. Print at 100% (“Actual size”).

In the print window set scale to 100% or “Actual size”, margins to “None”, and turn off headers and footers. Most home printers leave a thin white edge; the text stays inside the safe area.

Flyers make the phone ring. LockCommand's AI receptionist answers every call in English or Spanish, quotes from your price book and books the job.

Answer the calls your flyers bring

How to use it

Choose an audience and the headline, second line and services fill in for that kind of client. Edit any of it. Pick a format, add your phone, license number and logo, and print.

The three formats

FormatSizePer sheetGood for
Letter flyer8.5 × 11 in1Office boards, front desks, leasing offices. Add tear-off phone tabs for community boards.
Door hanger4.25 × 11 in2Walking a street of businesses or an HOA community.
Half-page handout8.5 × 5.5 in2Dropping off at dealerships and real estate offices, or leaving at a job.

Each layout keeps text at least 0.3 inches from every edge, because most home printers can't print right to the edge. Cut along the dashed lines. For the door hanger, cut the circle and the short line above it so it slips over a knob or lever.

Writing for each audience

  • Property managers care about turnovers: a rekey between tenants, done when the unit is empty.
  • Realtors want a closing rekey they can recommend, and someone who answers when a lockbox fails at a showing.
  • Car dealers need spare keys and programming without sending the car to the dealer down the road.
  • HOAs look after pools, gates, mailrooms and clubhouses, often with a master key system.
  • Businesses need a rekey when staff leave and quick help with commercial hardware.

Keep it honest. If you write "same day", mean it. The tool flags words like best, cheapest and guaranteed, because the FTC expects advertisers to have evidence behind their claims (FTC advertising guide for small business). Tick the insurance box only if you carry a current policy.

Worked example

A door hanger run for a business strip: pick Local businesses and Door hanger. Keep five services, such as rekeys when staff leave, master key systems, panic bars and door closers. Add an offer you'll honor, like "Free key count with every rekey quote". One sheet makes two hangers, so 25 sheets cover 50 doors.

Where to leave them

Hang them on doors or hand them to someone at the front desk. Don't put them in mailboxes: federal law bars putting unstamped mailable matter in a mailbox (18 U.S.C. 1725). Some towns and HOAs limit door-to-door flyers, so check local rules and respect "no soliciting" signs.

Your license number goes in the footer when you add it. Some states require it on ads. Maryland, for example, wants the licensed locksmith's name and license number on every ad and business card (Maryland locksmith advertising rules). For your state, see license rules by state. Questions

What size is the door hanger?
4.25 by 11 inches, two to a US Letter sheet. The hole is 1.375 inches across with a slit up to the top edge, drawn as dashed lines so you can cut it with scissors or a hole punch and a knife.
Can I put flyers in mailboxes?
No. Federal law (18 U.S.C. 1725) bars putting mailable matter without postage in a mailbox. Hang them on doors or knobs, hand them out, or mail them with postage.
Why doesn't the copy say best or cheapest?
Those are claims you'd have to prove. The FTC says advertisers need evidence for their claims. Plain words about what you do and how to reach you work fine.
Will it print on a home printer?
Yes. Print at 100% with margins set to None. Most home printers leave a thin white edge, so all the text sits inside a safe area away from the edges.
Should my license number be on the flyer?
If you have one, yes. Some states require it on ads, and it helps people trust a flyer from a shop they don't know. Check your state in our license rules by state tool.
