# Google review link and QR code maker

Paste your Google review link, a g.page/r/ link or your Place ID. The tool checks it, builds the link customers should open, makes a QR code and prints review cards for the van, the counter and your invoices.

## Your review link

Example link: paste yours

Looks right. Scan the code with your phone before you print.

### Where do I find my link or Place ID?

1. **Review link:** on a computer, open your Business Profile at business.google.com, choose Read reviews, then Get more reviews, and copy the link. It usually looks like g.page/r/ and a code, ending in /review.
2. **Place ID:** search your shop in Google's [Place ID Finder](https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/examples/places-placeid-finder) and copy the code it shows. It's a long string of letters and numbers, often starting with ChIJ.
3. A share link from the Maps app (maps.app.goo.gl) works too, but it opens your profile, not the review box.

## Card text

Keep it short. No offers or rewards: Google bans incentives for reviews.

10 cards on a Letter sheet, with cut lines.

## Your QR code and card

PNG for texts and social posts. SVG for a printer or sign shop: it stays sharp at any size.

Preview, actual print size 3.5 × 2 in

## How to use it

A review request only works if the link drops the customer straight into the review box. Plenty of shops print a Maps share link instead, which opens the profile and leaves the customer hunting for the button. This tool tells you which kind of link you have and makes a QR code from the right one. The code is made in your browser, and the test suite decodes it back to the exact link, so what you print is what a phone reads.

### How to get your Google review link

1. On a computer, open your Business Profile at business.google.com.
2. Choose Read reviews, then Get more reviews.
3. Copy the link. It usually starts with g.page/r/ and ends with /review.

Google's help page says its own review QR code can only be made in a computer browser, not on a phone. This tool works on a phone too: paste the link and download the code.

No access to the profile right now? Find your Place ID with Google's [Place ID Finder](https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/examples/places-placeid-finder) and paste it here. The tool builds a link in the form search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid= followed by your ID.

### Which link should you print?

| Link | Where it lands | Use it? |
| --- | --- | --- |
| g.page/r/…/review from Get more reviews | The review box | Yes. Google documents it, and it's short, so the code stays simple. |
| writereview?placeid= built from a Place ID | The review box | As a backup. It works, but Google doesn't document it. |
| maps.app.goo.gl share link | Your profile | Only if you have nothing else. The tool warns you. |
| A Yelp, Facebook or website link | Somewhere else | No. The tool refuses it and says why. |

### Where to put the QR code

- On a business card the tech hands over with the receipt. This is the one that gets scanned most, because the customer is standing there with a phone.
- On the invoice or receipt: add the PNG to your invoice template, or staple a card to the printout.
- On the counter of a storefront, on a 4 × 6 card in a stand.
- On the van's back doors, as a decal from the SVG file. Make it big: a common rule of thumb is about 1 inch of code for every 10 inches of scanning distance.

### A worked example

You paste the Place ID ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4. The tool builds the writereview link, 79 characters long, and makes a version 5 code: 37 squares across, plus a white border of 4 squares on each side, which phones need to find the code. On the business card that prints about 1.4 inches wide. Paste the g.page/r/ link instead and the code drops to version 3 (29 squares across), with bigger squares that scan faster from farther away. That's why the short link is the better one to print.

### Printing the cards

Pick business card size for 10 cards on a Letter sheet, or 4 × 6 for one large card to stand on a counter or tape inside the van window. Cut along the dashed lines. In the print dialog, set the scale to 100% ("Actual size") so the cards come out at their real size. Before you print a stack, scan the code on screen with your own phone and check it opens your review box.

The PNG download is for texts and social posts. The SVG download stays sharp at any size, so send that one to a sign shop for van lettering or a door decal. Keep the code black on white. Light codes on dark backgrounds, logos in the middle and color gradients make some phones fail.

### Keep the card within Google's rules

"Scan to review us" is fine. "Scan for 10% off" or "Leave 5 stars" is not: Google bans rewards for reviews and asking only for positive ones. The card text box checks for that wording as you type. Hand the card to every customer, not just the happy ones. For texts and emails, use the [review request templates](https://lockcommand.com/tools/review-request-templates).

### Sources and what we couldn't confirm

- [Create a Google link or QR code to request reviews](https://support.google.com/business/answer/16816815) , Google Business Profile Help.
- [Place IDs](https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/places/web-service/place-id) , Google Maps Platform docs. Place IDs vary in length and can change over time, so test your link once in a while.
- [Prohibited & restricted content (Fake engagement)](https://support.google.com/contributionpolicy/answer/7400114) , Google.
- ISO/IEC 18004, the QR code standard: the 4-square quiet zone and the error correction level M the codes use (about 15% of the code can be damaged and still scan).

The writereview?placeid= link has worked for years and review tools use it widely, but we couldn't find a current Google help page that documents it. The link you copy from Business Profile is the safest choice. Last checked October 2026.

## Questions

### How do I get my Google review link?

On a computer, open your Business Profile, choose Read reviews, then Get more reviews, and copy the link. It usually starts with g.page/r/ and ends with /review.

### How do I make a QR code for Google reviews?

Paste your review link or Place ID into this tool. It checks the link, makes the QR code in your browser, and lets you download it as PNG or SVG or print it on business cards. Scan it with your own phone before you print a stack.

### Can I make a Google review QR code on my phone?

Google's own review QR code can only be made in a computer browser. This tool works on a phone: paste the link from Business Profile, or your Place ID, and download the code.

### What is a Place ID?

A code Google uses for one place on the map, usually a long string of letters and numbers that often starts with ChIJ. Find yours with Google's Place ID Finder and this tool turns it into a review link.

### Why doesn't my Maps share link open the review box?

A maps.app.goo.gl link opens your profile, and the customer has to find the review button. Use the link from Get more reviews in Business Profile, or your Place ID, for a direct link.

### Can a QR code open the review with 5 stars already picked?

No. Google has no link that picks the stars for the customer, and asking for 5 stars breaks its review policy. Ask for an honest review.

### Does the tool send my link anywhere?

No. The link is checked and the QR code is made in your browser. Nothing is stored or sent.
